Teaching during the clinical fellowship

We have an updated comprehensive biweekly curriculum for Fellow teaching in abdomen

Fellows have didactic and interactive teaching every Monday and Friday as well as an interesting case conference presentation on Wednesday. The Wednesday meeting provides a collaborative learning environment where fellows and Staff share the most interesting and challenging cases they encounter weekly. This also increases the case volume and mix seen by everyone on Fellowship.

The updated curriculum includes:
  • Introductory lectures including: OB imaging, MRI and CT policies, biopsy center introduction and the oncall survival guide
  • Advanced imaging of the hepatobiliary system and pancreas
  • Advanced imaging of gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts
  • Advanced imaging of the female pelvis and prostate
  • Abdominal emergencies
  • Sarcoma and neuroendocrine imaging
  • Abdominal organ transplant
  • Advanced ultrasound imaging and CEUS
  • Post surgical abdomens including bariatric, transplant and complex GI imaging
  • PET/CT for abdominal imagers

Our Team

The combination of state-of-the-art equipment, a large volume of patients, the full spectrum of pathology and a dedicated faculty of approximately 23 Abdominal staff radiologists allows for an exceptional learning experience in all aspects of Abdominal and Pelvic Imaging. This experience is enhanced with twice weekly Abdominal Imaging rounds, weekly fellow lead interesting case review rounds and participation in numerous multidisciplinary rounds.

There are 14 Fellowship positions available per year. Call is divided amongst the Fellows with staff backup resulting in an approximately 1 in 14 on-call week day and 1 in 7 oncall weekend schedule covering Abdominal Imaging.
