Ania Kielar

Ania Kielar

Activity Lead, Quality and Safety

Ania Kielar is an associate professor at the University of Toronto and a fellow of the American College of Radiology (starting in 2021). She completed her medical school and radiology residency at the University of Ottawa. Then she completed a fellowship in abdominal imaging at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

She joined JDMI in 2018 and is the deputy chief of radiology at JDMI with a portfolio of quality and practice improvement. She sits on the quality committees at UHN and Sinai Health.

She is also Vice Chair, at large, of Radiology at the University of Toronto.

Currently, she is the treasurer on the executive committee for the Canadian Radiologists Association and will be president in 2023-2025.

Dr. Kielar serves on the DI expert panel for Ontario Health and also has roles at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for the Radiology exam, as well as the Oversight Committee for the Society of Abdominal Radiology.

She has over 100 peer reviewed publications and 15 book chapters with a research focus on standardization and radiology error reduction.
