“I thoroughly enjoyed my Abdominal Imaging fellowship at JDMI. The fellowship is structured to provide exposure to all major modalities and facets of abdominal imaging. One of the strongest suits of the fellowship is its faculty, comprising of some of the most well-known names in abdominal imaging. I had the first-hand opportunity to learn from and engage in meaningful discussions with the faculty on a daily basis. I felt that I was in the know of the most recent emerging trends and ideas at the forefront of body imaging.

The fellowship is well-recognized amongst the radiology colleagues throughout Canada, some of whom are themselves alumni of the fellowship. The fellowship provided the confidence and competence I needed before starting my staff position at the North York General Hospital. The on-call experience during the fellowship prepared me well for the real-world calls, which are an integral part of today’s radiology. The strong knowledge base I acquired has allowed me to be a go-to person for abdominal cases at my institution. The 4 weeks of procedural experience at the Biopsy Centre was invaluable in increasing my hands-on confidence and was directly relevant to my current role. I was also able to have 2 months of obstetrical imaging during my fellowship, which has tremendously helped me in our Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic at NYGH.
