Kavita Dhamanaskar

Dr. Kavita Dhamanaskar is an associate professor of radiology at the University of Toronto and a staff radiologist at the Breast Imaging Division of the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) that includes University Health Network, Sinai Health System, and Women’s College Hospital.
In her previous role, Kavita was an associate professor of radiology at McMaster University a staff radiologist at Hamilton Health Sciences for over 20 years. She was instrumental in establishing a dedicated breast imaging division at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre and was the inaugural medical lead for the CIBC Breast Assessment Centre. Under her decade of leadership, the BAC grew into a leading referral site with exemplary patient-centered care and implementation of advanced technologies like tomosynthesis and CEM. She continues to provide mentorship and advocacy for adoption of novel technologies and improved workflows in her current role.
Kavita has done a dedicated breast imaging fellowship at the University of Toronto. She did her undergraduate medical education and radiology residency at the B. J. Medical College of University of Pune, India.
