
Felipe Castillo
Dr. Felipe Castillo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto and a Cardiothoracic Radiologist at the Joint Department of Medical Imaging.
He completed medical school and radiology residency at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he served as Chief Resident and completed an observational rotation in cardiothoracic imaging at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in St. Louis. His postgraduate training includes a Body Imaging fellowship at UC CHRISTUS Clinical Hospital in Santiago, Chile, followed by fellowships in Body Imaging at St. Michael’s Hospital and Cardiothoracic Imaging at the Joint Department of Medical Imaging in Toronto.
His clinical interests include thoracic imaging and image-guided chest procedures. He completed formal training in medical education and is deeply committed to trainee education and development, using a practical, case-based approach. He previously served as Director of the Cardiothoracic Imaging Chapter of the Chilean Society of Radiology.
His research interests include advanced thoracic imaging techniques, sustainability, and imaging informatics. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and received research awards at international scientific meetings.
Outside of work, he enjoys sports, music, and spending quality time with his family.
